Organizer of Loudoun Men Are Cooking 2017 Fundraising Benefit
Psi Rho Omega and Sigma Mu Mu are the Loudoun County Alumni Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, respectively. These organizations serve the Loudoun County community through providing scholarships and community programs targeting educational enrichment, health promotion, and family strengthening. The Pearls of Loudoun Endowment, an affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Educational Advancement Foundation, and the Operation Uplift Foundation are 501(c)3 non-profit organizations each striving to become Loudoun County’s premier scholarship foundations.
On Saturday, October 7, 2017, doors will open at the grand West Belmont Place Event Center (18980 Upper Belmont Place, Leesburg, VA. 20176) to host the 2017 Loudoun Men Are Cooking event, a tasting party featuring culinary competitions between amateur and professional chefs. The event takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Local community service organizations (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Psi Rho Omega Chapter and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Sigma Mu Mu Chapter), in partnership with Pearls of Loudoun Endowment, an affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Educational Advancement Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit that provides support to Loudoun County youth in the pursuit of academic success through scholarship to “Cultivate a Future of Excellence.
Fifty professional and amateur chefs will prepare gourmet fare to delight the palates of over 400 guests. To spice up the competition, professional chefs will share some of their kitchen secrets and cooking tips while offering up their signature dishes. They cook and you eat! Judges will determine whose dish ranks supreme; however, guests should save room to vote for their “Foodie Favorite.” While sampling bold appetizers, creative sides, enticing entrees, and decadent desserts, guests will be treated to the delightful live performance of a local favorite—Just’s Friends Band and Show.
